I am very delighted to have my work Spotlight, (archival, oil on 100x100cm linen canvas) chosen to be in the final 50 artworks for the SAA Artists of the Year (AOY) competition 2025. As such it will be included in the People’s Choice vote from 23 June to 10 November 2025 on www.saa.co.uk.

My practice includes: drawing in ink and pencils, painting in watercolour, oil paint, printing using lino, copper plate dry point, creating monoprints and monotypes. It is for this reason that I have chosen the following quote as my artist’s statement as it sums up my aim and challenge, not how I do it.
"The good painter has to paint two principal things, that is to say, man and the intention of his mind. The first is easy and the second difficult, because the latter has to be represented through gestures and movements of the limbs."
